The invitation of Proverbs 3 is not just to trust God occasionally, but to trust Him in the very places where you are tempted to rely completely on yourself. Calling you to see that your viewpoint is restricted since you only see a part of the image, whereas God sees the entire picture. Holy surrender is not passive resignation or surrendering responsibility while refusing to make decisions; rather, it is the intentional act of entrusting what you cannot control to the One who can.

Surrender is sometimes tough because of what it requires you to release, not the act itself. It could be a meticulously crafted plan, an expectation of how a relationship should play out, or a future you've envisaged so clearly that you're struggling to create a way for another option. As you grow spiritually, you will discover that surrender is less about losing something and more about getting perspective. What once seemed like letting go now seems like being guided. What was once uncertain is now an opportunity to experience God's guidance more directly.

To flourish in holy surrender, acknowledge that God's wisdom is working toward your welfare rather than contending with it. His intentions are not an interruption to your life, but rather an invitation into something more profound than you could create on your own. While surrender does not always bring immediate insight, it always puts you in a position to be directed by the One who sees deeper than you ever could.

Midweek Challenge:

Identify one area of your life where uncertainty is causing worry. Instead of trying to solve things on your own, spend a few minutes each day this week praying particularly about that circumstance. Ask God not just for guidance, but also for the grace to trust Him until the answer is revealed.

Prayer:

Lord, teach me to trust You beyond what I can see and comprehend. Help me let go of my desire to control every outcome and give me the confidence to follow Your guidance with an open heart and align my desires with Your wisdom and direct my steps in accordance with Your plan. Amen.

Everything seemed different when my fiancé died, and I can’t stop wondering how I’m expected to move on from three days before my wedding to mourning him. What if the next person dies as well? How can I fall in love again? Even if I work, operate, and do my daily responsibilities, I feel alienated from everyone, happiness, and even myself. I was there, but I didn’t feel particularly alive.

I attended your Be Thy Light session; you did not rush the process or try to make it appear less severe. You discussed light in a way that I had never considered before: as something we can carry even when we are shattered, rather than something we wait for..

How could I feel light when my body felt so heavy? “Be thy light” didn’t make sense. Throughout your teachings, I questioned everything. But after a few days, I received your newsletter, which brought me back to the workshop, and I realised that light meant reliving small moments rather than pretending everything was good.

Your prayers and words had an unexpected influence on me and helped me get through it. They comforted me that even in the midst of my pain, I could still rely on God. I could start afresh even if I wasn’t fully cured.

David's declaration in this psalm is not that of someone whose life is free of difficulties, but the voice of someone who's learned to read his own story through God's character rather than the volatility of his circumstances. God's goodness is not restricted to situations that are obviously pleasant or simple to appreciate. It is not limited to outcomes that fit your expectations or seasons that seem light. Instead, it is a constant reality that underpins all experiences, seen and unseen, understood and misunderstood.

Learning to trust God's goodness necessitates a shift in perspective: refusing to interpret every obstacle as an absence and instead allowing for the possibility that God is present in ways that are not immediately obvious. Over time, the trust begins to shape your internal stance. Your anxiousness relaxes because you are no longer attempting to foresee every eventuality, and every disappointment loses its final power because you learn to realise that what you see is not the whole picture. Hope becomes more stable because it is no longer based on perfect circumstances but on God's unchanging essence.

To flourish in God's goodness, you must learn to live with open eyes and a firm heart. Acknowledge that, even when life appears unpredictable, you are still part of a story formed by divine care. Nothing is wasted. Nothing is neglected. He is completely focused on everything.

Spend some time reflecting on your journey over the last year. Make a list of ten particular instances in which you can now recognise God's kindness in both what was provided and what was safeguarded or redirected.

Prayer:

Father, help me see Your kindness in both the obvious and the hidden places in my life; teach me to trust Your heart, even when I cannot see Your hand and allow appreciation to build within me while keeping my hope in You. Amen.

Dear Reader,

It is natural and common for us as humans to recognise God's goodness during those moments, since joy comes easily and doors open at the right time when prayers seem answered.

But there are other times of the year when things don't make sense immediately, prayers seem to be postponed, the future appears hazy, and the clarity we previously had begins to fade.

We frequently start to doubt our preconceived notions during these times.

Is God still at work?
Does He still exist?
Does he remain faithful?

Actually, God's faithfulness is not limited to easy-to-understand moments in life. The seasons do not affect it. God is as close in the ambiguity as He is in the clarity, just as faithful in the waiting as He is in the fulfilment, and just as present in the quiet as He is in the breakthrough.

But in times of plenty, it can show up as provision and open doors; in times of waiting, it can show up as serene perseverance; and in times of loss, it can show up as comfort that keeps you together when all else seems to be crumbling.

If you take a moment to think back on your life, you may notice moments when things came together in unexpected ways, times when you felt weak but had support, and times when you thought you wouldn't survive but did.

Even in this season, he is working in ways you might not yet see. He is keeping what appears to be questionable together. He is preparing for what remains.

You don't have to know everything to trust in God's unwavering constancy. It is not necessary to have a precise understanding to believe that He is still with you. Sometimes having faith is as easy as remembering God's former self and using that knowledge to direct you toward His current self.

Message:

In the kingdom of God, freedom doesn’t mean living without limits. It means living according to God’s plan, where your life isn’t controlled by things that make you less than you are. When the Holy Spirit leads, He doesn’t just take things away from you; He puts things back in the right order and straightens out what has become out of place. Internal habits, such as the desire for constant acceptance, the habit of self-condemnation, or the calm anxiety that you are never enough, are examples of invisible bondage. Others are long-term emotional loads, such as unresolved sadness, lingering disappointment, or memories that continue to influence current decisions more than you realise. The Holy Spirit's role is not to overwhelm you by exposing these things, but to gently shepherd you out of their grasp.

In this way, freedom is intimately linked to relationships. It is not something you acquire only by effort; rather, it is something you develop as you learn to respond to God's voice. The Holy Spirit is constantly drawing you away from what binds your spirit and toward what offers vitality, clarity, and stability. What distinguishes Spirit-led freedom is its tenderness, as it does not impose transformation through pressure or guilt. It leads to certainty, peace, and truth, which grows clearer with time. You are not pushed into change; rather, you are guided through it. And as you progress, you'll discover that your inner life becomes less entangled, less motivated by fear, less burdened by effort, and less influenced by past events.

To flourish in Spirit-led freedom, you must master the art of listening, paying attention to God's subtle but powerful promptings that redirect your focus, disrupt destructive patterns, and invite you into healthier rhythms. In time, you learn that freedom isn't just about being freed from things; it's also about being led to things like clarity instead of chaos, peace instead of inner strife, and purpose instead of apathy.

Identify one thought pattern, habit, or emotional response that seems repetitious or restricting. Instead of suppressing it, welcome the Holy Spirit into that specific region and replace it with a biblical truth that realigns your perspective.

Prayer:

If I’m being completely honest, there was a time in my life when I strayed greatly from my true self. Making little compromises here and there, I shied away from everything that made me think of God because guilt has progressively taken hold of me.

Thankfully, you continue to send me your monthly bible plan and midweek devotional writing during that same season. I read silently at first, observing from a distance without participating or responding. However, your remarks didn’t feel weighty or judgmental.

At times, it seemed as though your thoughts were scribbled right into the areas I was attempting to stay away from. You didn’t demand perfection before discussing grace. You talked about going back to God as though it were still doable, even for someone like me.

And slowly, something began to shift. I remember one particular night. I had just read one of your letters about coming back to God without pretending. It stayed with me longer than I expected, and for the first time in a long while, I prayed.

I didn’t feel rejected, I didn’t feel like I had to prove anything, and I felt… received.

It’s hard to describe, but it felt like the gap I thought existed between God and me had never actually been. It dawned on me then that grace had been waiting for me all along.

Your writing didn’t just save me, but it helped me return.

They reminded me that I could come back without fixing everything first. That God wasn’t waiting for a perfect version of me. That I could start again, even from where I was. Many people imagine God’s protection as something that removes all difficulty. But Scripture often shows something deeper. God’s covering does not always mean the absence of storms. Instead, it means we are never exposed or abandoned within them.

If you have ever experienced this, you are not alone.

Many of us experience times when worry weighs more than we would want to acknowledge. There are things in life that we can’t always answer right away, and the uncertainty can make us feel a little restless.

However, the fact that God does not want us to bear that burden alone is among the most consoling truths found in Scripture.

Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us to present everything to God in prayer rather than worrying about anything. And when we do, the amazing promise that follows is that our hearts and minds will be protected by God’s peace, which surpasses all comprehension.

Calm and predictable surroundings are typically necessary for worldly peace of mind. It emerges when issues are resolved and vanishes when doubt reappears. But there is more to God’s peace than that.

There is a quiet power to God’s peace. Even when nothing has altered in our immediate surroundings, it keeps our hearts steady. It serves as a gentle reminder that we are under the care of a God who is able to look beyond the here and now and comprehend the entirety of our lives.

Simple routines like taking a break throughout a hectic day to breathe and pray, letting go of persistent fears, or reminding yourself of God’s previous faithfulness could be the first steps.

Remind yourself that God is there, watching over you, and capable of carrying anything that seems too big for you whenever worry starts to surface. Stop for a bit if you’re feeling overwhelmed by today and present your worries to God in an honest manner.

Perfect words are not necessary because all you need is an open heart.

You might also start to feel at ease in that state of surrender, which serves as a gentle reminder that you are not alone in life.

By the end of this month, my prayer is that you will feel stronger, braver, more obedient, and deeply aware of God’s hand on your journey. Walls will fall, fear will loosen its grip, and you will step into June with a Joshua-kind of boldness.

Message:

The first step in binding a wound is to get near enough to examine it clearly. To start the healing process, one must calm down, clean the wound, give it careful attention, and cover it. God tends to the pieces of us that life has broken, shattered, or damaged in this way.

I understand life has a way of leaving its traces, even inexplicable disappointments. Words that lingered longer than they ought to, losses that caused the earth to move beneath you.

The world sometimes wants you to move on fast.

"Have strength."
"Move on from it."
"Don't think about it."

However, God acts in a different way. The Psalmist does not claim that God disregards those who are heartbroken. He claims to heal them.

Many of us wish that emotional and spiritual wounds would disappear the moment we pray about them. We hope that one prayer, one sermon, or one powerful moment with God will erase years of hurt. And while God certainly has the power to heal instantly, His restoration often unfolds gradually.

Restorative healing does more than remove pain; it reshapes the heart. Over time, God replaces bitterness with peace, fear with courage, and despair with renewed hope. The wounds that once felt overwhelming begin to lose their power.

One day, you may realise that the pain which once defined your days no longer has the same hold on your heart. The memory may still exist, but it no longer controls your peace. What once felt like a place of deep hurt can eventually become a place where compassion, wisdom, and strength grow.

Midweek Challenge:

This week, write openly in your journal for an hour about the things that still hurt. Let God be a part of it.

Prayer:

Heal my hidden areas, Jesus. Where pain previously existed, bring joy, trust, and identity back. Amen.

What is my calling?

It’s a question that often feels large and mysterious, as if the answer must arrive in a dramatic moment or a life-altering revelation. I’ve come to understand that calling often reveals itself in much quieter ways.

More often than not, it begins with service.

Jesus showed us this in the most profound way. Though He carried divine authority, He lived a life deeply rooted in serving others. He cared for the overlooked, healed the hurting, and spent time with people who were often ignored by society.

The heart of service does not always appear in extraordinary moments. Sometimes it is offering encouragement when someone feels discouraged. Sometimes it is listening patiently when someone needs to be heard. Sometimes it is simply showing up when others choose convenience instead.

When we serve others sincerely, we begin to see the world differently. We become more aware of the needs around us, and in that awareness, something beautiful begins to unfold: our purpose slowly takes shape.

You may not always recognise it immediately, but the small acts of kindness you offer can become the very path through which your calling grows. Calling is not always about a specific role or title; it is the spirit with which we live our daily lives.

It is about choosing humility when pride would be easier. It is about extending grace when frustration feels justified. It is about using whatever gifts God has placed within you to make someone else’s journey a little lighter.

When we live with a heart of service, something remarkable happens.

Our focus shifts away from constantly asking, “What can I gain?” and begins asking, “How can I help?”

And in that shift, purpose begins to bloom naturally.

Message:

At first, bitterness feels strong, like protection, justice, and control. However, it solidifies and becomes integrated into the body over time. It changes the way you show up, trust, and love. All of a sudden, the wound that was supposed to be temporary becomes permanent.

There is no space for peace to grow when your heart is constricted around resentment.

However, everything is altered when we are expected to forgive from a position of having been forgiven. Perhaps we might consider waiting for perfect apologies before letting go of our suffering, since God did not wait for our confessions to be perfect before showing mercy.

Before you even knew to ask, Christ fully and freely pardoned you. When you show them the same grace, you thrive because you deserve peace, not because they deserve it.

The statement "This pain will not define my future" is interrupted by forgiveness.

Forgiveness must be established within rather than externally because sometimes the apology and dialogue never occur. And that's when grace comes into play.

Recall that some memories come back, some scars return, and certain triggers renew the pain, so you might need to forgive more than once.

And each time, you repeat softly:

"I release this freely."

Not because it didn't matter, but rather because your peace of mind is more important.

Compose a letter of forgiveness, let go of the burden; you don't have to send it.

Prayer:

Give me the ability to forgive where it hurts, Lord. Heal what rage attempted to conceal. Bring my heart back to serenity. Amen.

It was the reminder that God was paying attention. He saw my need even before I fully understood how to express it. And he responded in ways that gently reassured me that I wasn’t facing that moment alone.

Intelligence is not the same as wisdom; it is the application of divine understanding to day-to-day existence. You can read books, listen to podcasts, hold degrees, and still feel uncertain at crossroads. Because wisdom is not simply knowledge stored, but divine insight applied.

Acknowledging that you don't have all the answers is the first step toward growing wisdom, even if it may seem easy until pride tells you that you should already know what to do.

But where self-sufficiency ends, Godly wisdom starts.

Many of our deepest traumas resulted from a lack of discernment rather than a lack of opportunity.

Wisdom shields you against choices that make you feel wonderful at the time but later cause you to lose your sense of peace. It brings you into harmony with God's timing, which is rarely hurried or anxious.

Scripture reminds us in 2 Corinthians 5:7 that “we walk by faith, not by sight.” At first glance, those words may sound simple, but living them out requires a deep level of trust in God.

I understand that, as humans, we like to see the whole map before beginning the journey. We like confirmation that every step will lead exactly where we hope it will. We want reassurance that the risks we take in obedience will be rewarded quickly and clearly.

Instead, God often reveals His plans gradually, one moment of trust at a time, and it usual feel so uncomfortable. Our minds search for certainty, for evidence, for something tangible to hold onto. But faith gently asks us to release that need for control and place our trust in the One who sees far beyond the horizon we are standing on.

God’s perspective is not limited by what we can see in the present moment, because while we focus on today’s questions, He is already aware of tomorrow’s answers, and while we struggle to understand why certain doors have closed, He is quietly preparing pathways we have not yet imagined.

Remember, Faith is not blindness; It is trust.

It is the quiet confidence that even when the path ahead is unclear, God is still leading the way. It is choosing to believe that His way reaches further than our human understanding could.

Sometimes walking by faith means continuing to pray when the outcome feels distant. And sometimes it simply means resting in the assurance that God’s timing is unfolding exactly as it should, even when our own timeline feels disrupted.

What I have learned is that faith often grows strongest in unseen places. Looking back, many of us can trace God’s faithfulness through paths we never expected to walk. The very seasons that once felt confusing often become the ones where we later see His guidance most clearly.

The truth is, walking by sight may feel comfortable, but walking by faith transforms us.

It deepens our dependence on God.

It teaches us patience.

And it reminds us that our journey is not defined solely by what we can measure or predict.

So if you find yourself in a season where the road ahead feels hidden, take courage. Faith does not require that you see everything. It simply asks that you trust the One who does.

To ensure that our voices are heard, we are urged to stand out from the crowd and prove ourselves. By many measures, strength is determined by visibility, power, and influence.

However, a very different picture of power emerges when we examine the life of Jesus.

Unlike anybody else, Jesus commanded authority. He walked with a clarity of purpose that altered the path of history, worked miracles, and spoke with wisdom that puzzled academics. However, His life was marked by humility rather than arrogance or self-exaltation.

Instead of demanding honour at every turn, the Son of God showed strength that came from humility.

Humility is a sign of power through submission rather than weakness. Being truly humble does not include downplaying your value or acting as though your talents are unimportant. Rather, it is realising that God is the source of all your abilities, opportunities, and even your breath.

I want you to hold on to this truth that humility is more about aligning your hearts with God’s plan than it is about demeaning yourself. Jesus demonstrated that service, not dominance, is the way to real influence. No position can match the effect of a humble heart.

I pray that we all continue to follow His example because when we live with humility, we start to develop inner strength.
