"Mary responded, ‘I am the Lord’s servant. May everything you have said about me come true.” Luke 1:38 (NLT)
Message:
We applaud bold declarations and grand gestures, but often forget that heaven notices the soft yes, the kind whispered through trembling lips in the early hours, the kind that doesn’t make the headlines, but changes the heart, the kind that happens over and over in the hidden spaces of your life when you forgive again, when you show up again, when you love again.
The quiet yes is not weakness; it is strength wrapped in humility. It says, “I trust God more than I trust my comfort.”
And like Mary, you may not see the full picture when you say it. You may only see the cost, the uncertainty, the risk. But the God who hears your quiet yes will write stories through it that outlive you.
Exercise:
Resist the urge to measure your obedience by its visibility. Ask instead: “What small, faithful yes is God asking of me right now?” Then, give in even if no one else sees.
Prayer:
Lord, tune my heart to Your voice. Help me recognise the moments, You are asking for my quiet yes. Give me the courage to surrender without needing full understanding, trusting that You hold the story and the outcome. Amen.
