BEFORE BLOOMS
Before a single leaf appears, the unseen work underground determines how well the tree will weather storms.
“Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him.” Colossians 2:7
Message:
The strongest trees are not measured by the beauty of their branches but by the depth of their roots. Before a single leaf appears, the unseen work underground determines how well the tree will weather storms. It’s the same with us.
God often does His deepest work where no one is watching in the hidden places of your heart. Seasons where you feel unnoticed are not seasons of neglect; they are seasons of preparation. While the world measures growth by what can be seen, God measures it by what can endure.
Roots don’t grow in a hurry; they grow in darkness, in quiet persistence, in surrender to the soil. Your hidden prayers, unseen tears, and private moments of obedience are not wasted. They are anchoring you for the winds you can’t yet see.
When the storms come, and they will, it won't be the applause of others that holds you. It will be the roots you’ve allowed to go deep into Christ.
Exercise:
Don’t despise the hidden season. Instead, nurture it and spend more time with God than you do proving yourself to others. Let Him grow you deep so He can grow you strong.
Prayer:
Lord, let my roots go deep into You, so that my life will stand firm in every season. Amen.
