“What am I here for?”
Some people spend years searching for purpose as though it is a destination waiting somewhere far ahead of them. They compare their journeys with others, look at their achievements, and wonder if they are behind.
You see someone walking confidently in their calling and question your own. God has a way of revealing purpose through seasons, experiences, relationships, gifts, opportunities, disappointments, and even the things we never expected to encounter. That means your journey matters.
Even the seasons that didn’t look productive prepare something within you. The waiting developed your patience, difficult conversations developed your wisdom, unexpected responsibility revealed your leadership. The experience you once wanted to forget may eventually become something you use to help someone else.
I am not saying that every difficult thing was good or that you need to romanticise pain; what I did mean is that nothing has to be wasted. God works through the pieces of your stories that you don’t yet understand.
You were created intentionally, and your gifts are not accidental.
Purpose isn’t about discovering what you are good at, but discovering what your gifts are for.
Who can you serve?
Who can you encourage?
What problem can you help solve?
What burden has been placed on your heart?
What difference can your life make?
The clues to purpose are already present in your life; you need to slow down enough to notice them.
Midweek Challenge:
Recognise what has already been placed within you.
Write down three gifts or strengths you believe God has placed in you, and don’t overthink them. Allow yourself to see your abilities not as things you possess, but as tools that can serve a greater purpose.
Prayer:
Give me wisdom to recognise what matters, courage to take the next step, and discipline to steward what You have entrusted to me. Help me walk confidently in the assignment You have given me, trusting that You are shaping me even in the places I cannot yet understand. Amen.
