Lovelies,
This week’s letter is inspired by a reader who shared her journey from deep doubt to steady trust. And maybe you will recognise pieces of your own heart in it too.
She told me how she used to feel guilty for doubting, as though questions made her less spiritual or less faithful. She said, Temi, I prayed and felt nothing, read scripture and felt numb, worshipped and felt empty.
Doubt is not the opposite of faith; abandonment is.
Somewhere along the path, not because her circumstances changed, but because her heart posture changed after the last letter of Prayer. She started showing up even when she didn’t “feel” it. She whispered prayers even when her heart felt cold. She opened her bible not for emotional fireworks, but for simple nourishment.
And slowly, peace returned not as fireworks, but as a gentle sunrise.
She said, “I learned that trust isn’t a feeling. It’s a decision. A daily one.” And I thought, Yes, Lord. This is it. This is where faith becomes real.
Because trust is choosing God again and again, even when we don’t understand Him. Trust is resting in His character when His timing confuses us. Trust is standing still when everything in us wants to run. Trust is releasing control and saying, “Father, I believe. Help my unbelief.”
I don’t know what doubts you wrestle with or which tired places in your heart quietly ask, “God, are you still here? But I will hold your hand prayerfully as I say this: God is not offended by your questions. He is not intimidated by your doubts. He meets you in them.
And peace comes when we shift our eyes from what we don’t know… to Who we do know.
As you move through this week, remember: “Even when my heart questions, my soul chooses You God.”
With love,
Temi Olu (Reader narrator 😁)
