Oil That Pours in Silence
The widow’s house was quiet, no crowds, no thunder, no signs in the sky, just the sound of oil flowing from one jar to another.
“They brought the jars to her and she kept pouring.” 2 Kings 4:5
Message:
The widow’s house was quiet, no signs in the sky, just the sound of oil flowing from one jar to another. Her miracle didn’t come in a marketplace for everyone to witness; it came in the privacy of her home, in the company of her sons, behind closed doors.
God didn’t ask her for grand speeches or public displays. He asked her to gather, to close the door, and to pour.
And as long as she poured, the oil never stopped.
It’s easy to expect God’s answers to roar into our lives, to imagine that a breakthrough will come wrapped in drama and light. But often, His miracles flow quietly through daily obedience, through private acts of faith, through the steady rhythm of doing the last thing He told you to do.
Some of the greatest works of God don’t even make a sound. They simply fill the empty spaces until there’s nothing left unfilled.
Exercise:
If God has given you something to pour, your time, your love, your gift, your prayers, keep pouring. Trust that even in silence, He is multiplying what you place in His hands.
Prayer:
Lord, help me trust that You are moving, even when the only sound is the gentle pouring of what You’ve placed in me. Fill every space in my life with Your presence. Amen.
