PLANNER
I think of times when I had it all figured out, the timeline, the strategy, even the prayers, only for life to shift under my feet.
Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails. Proverbs 19:21
Message:
I have always been a planner. I love to know what’s next, where I’m going, how long it will take, and what the outcome will be. There’s a certain safety in having it all mapped out. But if there’s anything life has taught me, it’s that God’s plans rarely look like mine.
I think of times when I had it all figured out, the timeline, the strategy, even the prayers, only for life to shift under my feet. At first, I felt frustrated, even betrayed. Didn’t I pray? Didn’t I trust God? Why then did He allow my carefully arranged plans to fall apart?
It took me a while to see that God wasn’t punishing me; He was redirecting me. Some interruptions are actually invitations. They stop us from rushing toward something that might harm us and turn us toward what will truly heal and grow us.
When Mary received the angel’s message in Luke 1, her whole life was interrupted. It was not what she had planned, and yet it was God’s perfect plan for the salvation of the world. What felt like disruption was actually divine alignment.
You are in a season where your plans have been interrupted. It might feel like a loss right now, but could it be that God is saving you from something smaller than what He intends for you? Restoration sometimes begins with God lovingly removing what we thought we needed so He can give us what we truly need. God’s interruptions are often His invitations into something better.
Exercise:
Take 10 minutes today to journal about a time when your plans were interrupted and write down three good things that came from it, even if they were small.
Prayer:
Lord, teach me to see Your redirection as love and not punishment. Give me faith to believe that even when my plans fall apart, Your purpose for me is still good. Amen.
