Dear User,
Yay!!!! I’m on annual leave and I am loving every bit of it, rolling out of my bed with no alarm hassle and mental struggle of what I am wearing today, as I am writing this with my PJs on (😁) and my chilled cold chocolate, cos who needs a hot chocolate when I can roll back under the duvet (daring right)😁.
When was the last time you allowed yourself to simply stop? To pause without guilt, without apologising for being human, without rushing to the next task?
So much of wholeness begins with one brave act: resting. It feels counterintuitive, doesn’t it? Especially when you’re the one who holds everyone and everything together. But I’ve learned that God never designed you to run on empty.
I used to think rest was weakness until I realised Jesus Himself slept through storms.
Rest is not a luxury; it is faith in action. It says, “God, I trust You to handle the waves while I lay my head down.”
This week, I want to invite you to lay the weight down, the weight of what didn’t work out, the weight of holding everyone together, the weight of pretending to be okay. Rest is not wasted time. It is the soil where hope grows again.
Maybe you can start small: wake up ten minutes earlier to sit in silence with your coffee. Take a slow walk with no phone in hand. Turn off the noise and let your heart breathe. Wholeness takes root when you make space for it.
Breathe deep, dear user and remember that Rest is holy.
Softly,
Rest Convener
