SHOW UP SMALL
I have a habit of waiting until everything feels perfect before I start, until I have the full plan, the right timing, the perfect conditions.
Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin. Zechariah 4:10
Message:
I have a habit of waiting until everything feels perfect before I start, until I have the full plan, the right timing, the perfect conditions. But some of the most beautiful parts of my journey have started small, messy, and uncertain.
God doesn’t ask us to show up perfectly. He asks us to show up faithfully. Sometimes that looks like writing one page, sending one message, taking one step, even when it feels insignificant.
The first disciples were ordinary fishermen, tax collectors, and zealots. Their beginning was small, but their faithfulness changed the world.
Maybe God is nudging you to start something: a conversation, a dream, a habit. Don’t wait until you feel ready or until it looks impressive. Show up small. Start where you are. Trust that God will multiply what you give Him. Small beginnings matter because God rejoices in them.
Exercise:
Take one tiny step toward a dream or task you’ve been putting off. Write the first sentence, make the first call, pray the first prayer. Celebrate the fact that you began.
Prayer:
Lord, give me courage to start small. Help me to trust that every little step of obedience counts in Your kingdom. Amen.
